My Photography

Mira MacNeil

A native of Poland, I emigrated to Canada in 1965, and settled first in Toronto, then in 1970, subsequently moved to Ottawa. It was in Ottawa that my professional career began to take root. During my first years in Canada, I worked first for some of Canada's chartered banks. Then in 1977, pursuing my long-held dream, I made a career move into the travel business, where I worked for several well established and respected Canadian travel agencies During my early years I developed a love, almost a "wanderlust", for travel.

I quickly found the means to visit and explore many places in Canada and in the World. My husband and I fell in love with Nova Scotia and its natural beauty, its history, people, and architecture. One does not have to drive very far in Nova Scotia to see something new. The spectacular cloud formations, the wind , clean air, and sunshine are all available here. I take every opportunity to see something new; to walk in the woods, or on the beaches, and always with my camera. I hope that I can share with you my love of Nova Scotia. And I hope that one day you will come and experience this for yourself.

I enjoy taking photos of remarkable aspects of natural beauty which take my fancy. I use a Nikon 2000 and Olympus 5060 equipment. I leave my photos untouched whenever possible, preferring to leave sights as nature intended. I print my framed photos on Kodak paper to ensure that quality of the images remains.
